This Primary Care facility, located on a constricted town centre site of 0.73 Acres boast a wide range of community-based services such as Dental services, Physiotherapy services, Early Intervention Teams and Doctor on call services and administrative offices.
The building design had to respond to its roadside location but also address overlooking issues with residential housing on a number of its boundaries. The building design incorporates a courtyard to ensure natural light to all treatment rooms and surgeries and a multiple level atrium located at its core provides daylight to administration spaces. The design of the building has a strong modern aesthetic fenestration and compliments the contemporary design of the neighbouring Mayo County Council Building.
Claremorris Primary Care forms part of the overall Primary Care Centre PPP Projects, with a capital value of approximately €115m, developed as part of the Government’s €2.25bn Infrastructure Stimulus Package in 2012. MOCH acted as architects for 3 of the Primary Care centres at Claremorris, Westport and Summerhill.
