Scoil Choca Naofa is located in the centre of Kilcock village adjacent to St Coca’s Church.  The Project consists of a 2 storey extension to an existing 1953 ‘Boyd Barret’ type school, including full refurbishment of the existing School accommodation.

A key element of the design is to provide the School with a new focal point entrance, which seamlessly links the existing and new accommodation.  The relocation of the main entrance allows for a new drop-off/parent parking area and provides for an entrance court between the old and new buildings in which the attractive school sculpture is located.

The completed Primary School consists of 16 Classrooms, SET Rooms, a new GP Hall, Library, Resource Rooms and other ancillary accommodation, providing a fresh and modern educational facility.

The use of natural light and a strong colour scheme throughout the building provides a bright, cheerful and motivating learning environment.

Existing linkages to the Church, Mill Lane and the proposed supermarket are retained.   Generous hard play areas and a Camogie Pitch to the rear of the School are also provided.

The Board of Management, Staff and Children are delighted with their facility which maintains a link to the past and provides modern accommodation for the future.  The School Principal at completion stated “visitors to the School comment on the creative use of space, light and colour to provide a cheery ambiance for staff & pupils”.
